From Sarria to Santiago de Compostela

Sarria is located at about 115km distance from Santiago de Compostela on the traditional route of the Camino Francés. Pilgrims who walk the way from this Galician town to the sepulcher of the Apostle St. James fulfill the condition to receive the Compostela. From O Cebreiro to Santiago de Compostela

The small town of O Cebreiro has been welcoming pilgrims to Galicia for centuries. It's located right after the border between the provinces of León and Lugo at an altitude of 1300m. It's church holds a chalice from the 12th century to commemorate a medieval Eucharist miracle and that's also part of the Galician flag. This route of 154 km leads through Triacastela, Sarria, Portomarín, Melide and Pedrouzo.
